Executive Leadership
Avishai Neuman, MD, FASA
Avishai Neuman, MD, FASA, is the founder, CEO and Medical Director of Centurion Anesthesia, which now serves over 100 ambulatory and office-based practices across 10 states. A Sackler School of Medicine graduate, he has been an attending at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens since 2010 and is published in the journals Anesthesia & Analgesia and the British Journal of Anaesthesia. He also volunteers as medical director of Hatzalah Air.
Shanon Kleinman, MD
Shanon Kleinman, MD, was appointed Chief Medical Officer of Centurion Anesthesia in 2026, following more than a decade as Clinical Director. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and previously served as Division Director of General Anesthesia at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center before joining Centurion. He holds board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Clinical Directors
Babak Balakhaneh, DO
As both a clinician and educator, Dr. Babak Balakhaneh brings expertise in anesthesiology, perioperative care, and pain medicine to his roles as Clinical Director with Centurion Anesthesia and Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board-certified in anesthesiology.
Dov Ginsburg, MD, PhD
With both medical and doctoral training from SUNY Downstate, Dov Ginsburg, MD, PhD, brings a strong foundation in clinical care, research, and leadership to anesthesiology. He serves as Director of Anesthesiology for All City Family Health Care Surgery Center and Clinical Director of Anesthesiology for Centurion Anesthesia, overseeing perioperative operations. Dr. Ginsburg is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Health and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Regional Directors
Sunjoo Lee, DO
Sunjoo Lee, DO is a Regional Medical Director and also serves as Chair of Anesthesiology at Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus, NJ. She supports staffing and administrative operations at Integrated and Atlantis Ambulatory Surgery Centers in New Jersey and brings 20 years of private practice experience, including at Holy Name Hospital. Dr. Lee earned her DO from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (1999), completed a surgical internship at Henry Ford Hospital, and trained in anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate.
Alexander Nelken, MD
Since joining Centurion Anesthesia in 2014, Alexander Nelken, MD, has provided anesthesia care across ambulatory surgery and office-based settings. He earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his anesthesiology residency at SUNY Downstate, where he also served as a Clinical Assistant Instructor. Before entering medicine, Dr. Nelken received rabbinical ordination, reflecting the diverse experiences that shaped his career.

Cameron Garagozlo, MD
From academic medical centers to ambulatory surgery facilities, Dr. Cameron Garagozlo has built a diverse foundation in anesthesiology. He earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine before completing his anesthesiology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He is committed to delivering thoughtful, patient-centered care throughout the surgical experience.
Joshua Oppenheimer, DO
Since joining Centurion Anesthesia in 2021, Joshua Oppenheimer, DO, has helped expand the group's presence across Florida's office-based and ambulatory surgery settings. He serves as Clinical Site Director at Delray Beach Surgery Center and brings training in both anesthesiology and chronic pain management from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Oppenheimer earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Maurice Winnick, DO
For more than 15 years, Maurice Winnick, DO, has served as Clinical Site Director at Treasure Coast Center for Surgery in Stuart, Florida, helping lead anesthesia services in the ambulatory setting. He earned his medical degree from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his anesthesiology residency at Nassau University Medical Center. After beginning his career in Maryland, he relocated to Florida, where he has spent most of his professional career. He joined Centurion Anesthesia in 2026.
Siraj Bhadsavle, MD
With a Doctor of Medicine degree from Albany Medical College, Dr. Bhadsavle is an anesthesiologist affiliated with NYU Langone Hospital. He specializes in pediatric anesthesia.
Heath Blonder, DO
With more than 20 years of experience in ambulatory surgery, Heath Blonder, DO, has cared for adult and pediatric patients across a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery. He serves as Director of Anesthesia at North Queens ASC with Centurion Anesthesia and has particular expertise in ultrasound-guided regional blocks. Dr. Blonder earned his degree cum laude from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Nassau University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.
Leonid Chernyak, MD, DO
Leonid Chernyak, MD, DO, brings expertise in both anesthesiology and pain management, supported by an educational background that includes medical degrees from Russia and the United States. He earned his MD from the State Medical Academy in Tver, Russia, and his DO from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Chernyak completed both his anesthesiology residency and Pain Management Fellowship at St. Luke's-Roosevelt/Columbia University and currently practices in Brooklyn.
Vedan Djesevic, MD
Licensed in New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, Vedan Djesevic, MD, brings extensive experience across a wide range of surgical specialties. A graduate of SUNY Downstate, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Stony Brook University Hospital before spending a decade at Huntington Hospital within the Northwell Health system. In 2019, he was appointed Chief of Anesthesiology at Empire State Ambulatory Surgery Center and now serves as a Site Director with Centurion Anesthesia.
Larry Franks, DO
Born in Johannesburg and raised in Canada, Larry Franks, DO, brings an international perspective and an unconventional path to medicine. After beginning his healthcare career as a chiropractor, he earned his medical degree from Ross University and completed his anesthesiology residency at Nassau University Medical Center. Following seven years with North American Partners in Anesthesia and a partnership at Good Samaritan Hospital, he joined Centurion Anesthesia.
Gregory Girshin, MD
After leading the Department of Anesthesiology at South Brooklyn Health for nearly a decade, Gregory Girshin, MD, brought his extensive clinical and administrative experience to Centurion Anesthesia, where he serves as Site Director at Downtown Bronx ASC. He completed his anesthesiology training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and went on to complete a Pain Management Fellowship at St. Luke's Roosevelt/New York Presbyterian.
Tal Levy, MD, MBA
Combining clinical expertise with business leadership, Tal Levy, MD, MBA, serves as Director of Anesthesiology at Citimed Surgery Center, overseeing clinical and staffing operations across a multispecialty surgical center. She holds a faculty appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at NYU Langone Health and previously served on the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College. Her dual background in medicine and business supports a thoughtful approach to patient care and operational excellence.
Alexander Suler, MD
Alexander Suler, MD, board-certified anesthesiologist and Medical Director at Surgicare of Brooklyn ASC with Centurion Anesthesia, earned his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He completed training in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and anesthesiology at NYU Medical Center. Dr. Suler spent a decade at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, serving as both an attending anesthesiologist and Compliance Officer. Since 2013, he has led anesthesia services at ASCs across the New York region.
Menachem Walfish, MD
Menachem Walfish, M.D. is the Centurion Anesthesia Site Director at NYU Brooklyn Endoscopy and Ambulatory Surgery Center, a role he has held for more than 10 years. He earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at SUNY Downstate. During residency, he received a teaching award in his final year while serving as Chief Resident. Prior to joining Centurion, Dr. Walfish served as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at SUNY and as Director of Obstetrical Anesthesia at Long Island College Hospital. He currently oversees more than 7,500 anesthetics annually.
Hanzhou Lian, MD
Before specializing in anesthesiology, Hanzhou Lian, MD, practiced as an attending ophthalmologist in China, giving him a unique perspective on surgical care. He completed his anesthesiology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and spent two decades with Morris Anesthesia Group. Today, he serves as Director of Anesthesia at Valley Eye Surgical Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he brings particular expertise in ocular anesthesia.
